The History of Hellinger Systemic Constellations

In Systemic Constellations by Emily Waymire

The creator of Systemic Constellations, Bert Hellinger, is an extraordinary master. He passed away, but continues to be an awe inspiring mix of gentle mentor and stick wielding Zen master. For me he has been all roles. I have never worked once with him and not been afraid. If you offer yourself to him he will not hold back from swiping egoic patterns from you. Every moment of my time around him has been about nothing less than waking up from the trances we live. It is not fun, it is life changing. I love it, but it’s not for everyone, at every stage of life.

I recently re-read a history of him. It is fascinating to me that he has been so controversial. I have never shared in this view (although I understand it) because I feel an affinity for what he represents. Having been around many spiritual teachers it is easy for me to see his role as a clarion call of awakening, a warning that we are running out off time.

He is not your average therapist or life coach. He has stripped me bare on multiple occasions in front of large audiences. He doesn’t entertain pretense.

After his Death he continued to appear and communicate with those of us who could hear him. Pure grace.

To me this is the purpose of life. To live it fully with awe and respect until the body is done. To live the largest life you can while causing no harm to others. And then bowing to the consequences with humility.

Here’s a great page capturing the journey of Systemic Constellations.
